Hamilton Beach Juice Extractor 67800

Verdict: Silver!!!- try it

My experience:

I had switched to a sedentary job where I did mostly desk work. However I still had the same appetite that I had when I worked in a job where I was on my feet for 8-10 hrs a day, sometimes longer.  You don’t need an expert nutritionist to tell you that this was a recipe for weight gain.

I gained about 20 pounds in a few months. I started exercising as I wanted to lose the weight but after 6 months of trying and not getting any results, I gave up.  I ate 2 chocolates, half an apple pie, 2 full meals and an ice-cream in an average day.  And to make matters worse I started to justify my rapidly deteriorating eating habits.  And of course in a matter of weeks I gained 10lbs.

And then the back pains started. They were gradual at first and I basically ignored them. Then one Saturday morning I could not move to get out of bed.  So I went to the doctor. Without me even telling him of my rapid weight gain he stated that the pain appeared weight related. No longer would I try to justify my weight gain.

I went to a nutritionist and he stated that I should detox. This was in light of the fact that even though I was exercising and eating well that I had found difficulty losing weight. Part of the detox was to drink fruit and vegetable juices. So I had to buy a juice extractor. The doctor and medication bills had drained me somewhat so I was looking for an economical juicer. I asked the sales representative if there were any problems with the Hamilton Beach juice extractor 67800 and she said “no”.

So with a new determination to loose weight and some motivation in terms of my health I proceeded to do a detox. And I lost 12 lbs, and yes there was exercise involved. I am still far from where I used to be and even further from being the next super model but I have kept it off thus far and have not had any back pains.

I use the juicer fairly regularly and when I use it I make quite a few drinks with it. (By the way, carrot and gala apples make a fairly good juice).

The only problems I have are the fact that I hate to have to stop and clean the filter relatively often and that the chute for the fruit should be bigger. A bigger chute would reduce the amount of cutting that has to be done before the veggie or fruit can be juiced.  Also, as the manufacturers warned, some vegetables like carrot can stain some of the plastic parts. Other than those my only other dislike has nothing to do with the machine....I hate to have to peel or prepare fruit to be used......especially carrots  as they need so much preparation...they must be washed, scrapped and cut.

The extractor also has a great safety feature which prevents the machine from operating if it is not set up correctly.

In all, I like the juicer and if you want a simple juicer for home use and a great price this is the juicer for you. Tell me your experience with the Hamilton Beach Juice Extractor 67800 below.
